Many people are concerned that there may be more train strikes on January 1, 2, and 3 because they have caused chaos over the holiday season.
Public transportation is at its busiest during the first few days of January as people return to work after the holidays and commute back home.
Train workers have been striking for salary, pensions, and working conditions since June, and there were other rail strikes in December.

Are There Train Strikes on January 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?
On Sunday, January 1, and Monday, January 2, there are no train strikes. On January 3, there will be strike action, though.
The strikes are expected to wreak havoc on Britain’s rail system because this is the day that many people go back to work after the holidays.
The walkout will last for 48 hours, ending on January 4 on Wednesday. Then, two days later, there will be another 48-hour strike.
This will wrap up the most recent series of strikes by the Rail, Maritime, and Transport union (RMT) will take place from Friday, January 6, to Saturday, January 7.
Trains will not run for five days in a row due to the ASLEF union’s strike that will begin on Thursday, January 5.
Following then, no additional strikes are anticipated until 2023.

Services will be canceled or severely disrupted
People are being advised not to take trains on January 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 because they will be canceled or severely interrupted, according to National Rail.
They have disclosed that “it is anticipated that there will be a very restricted service on some days, with no trains at all on some routes.”
Although the training sector is making every effort to reduce the impact this will have on services, cancellations or significant service disruptions are unavoidable.
On the days following the strike, including Sunday, January 8, services may potentially begin later and be disrupted.
